About the Commercial District Assessment Initiative

Strong commercial corridors are at the heart of thriving neighborhoods. They support local businesses, attract investment, create jobs, and provide the goods, services, and gathering spaces that help communities flourish.

The Commercial District Assessment Initiative was developed to help BDC and community partners better understand the factors that influence commercial corridor health and resilience. By combining local knowledge with data-driven analysis, the program helps inform future economic development strategies, investments, and policies that support equitable growth across Baltimore.
